Lieutenant Vitalii Sapilo was the commander of a tank platoon that destroyed three dozen pieces of enemy equipment.
He was born in the village of Cherche, Ivano-Frankivsk region. Since childhood, Vitalii has been playing football being a member of the youth football school of the Lviv Karpaty. His first coach, a fellow villager Andrii Digdalovych was a deceased Euromaidan activist, a Hero of Ukraine.
Died during the battle for Kyiv on the second day of the Russian-Ukrainian war after an air strike.
